Panel: Mozart Revealed
Peter A. Hoyt, moderator
Edmund J. Goehring
Despite the extraordinary clarity of his music, Mozart himself remains stubbornly enigmatic, bedeviling his biographers. Participants will offer new approaches to understanding Mozart’s operas and chamber music, his depictions of sexuality, and his attitudes toward his own musical creations. In this lively session, some of the world’s foremost Mozart experts will explore the unsolved mysteries that surround the composer’s life and career, followed by a question-and-answer session.
This event is free and tickets are not required. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The discussion will end by 5:30 to give patrons time for dinner before the evening’s concerts.
Presented in association with the Mozart Society of America.
