Alice Tully Hall
Two of Europe’s most exquisite vocal ensembles present an evening of ethereal a cappella choral works contrasting the sensuous sounds of traditional Georgian music with works by Bach, Ligeti, and Xenakis. The inheritors of the Georgian choral music legacy, the all-male Ensemble Basiani performs folk and sacred songs, highlighting the world's oldest polyphonic music tradition. Led by Paul Hillier, the critically acclaimed Ars Nova Copenhagen sings works by three Western masters of that tradition.
